The Technical Coordination Council (TCC)

Introduction

The Technical Coordination Council (TCC) of the Geo-Institute is a group of eight councilors who coordinate technical activities between the different technical committees, councils, task forces, and the Board of Governors.

Vision Statement

The TCC seeks to make the Geo-Institute  recognized worldwide as technically excellent in the products and services that it offers.  Further, it strives to make the Geo-Institute a world leader in development and dissemination of high quality technology.

Mission Statement

The mission of the TCC of the Geo-Institute is to provide leadership on technical issues and to enable individuals, technical committees, task forces and councils to advance the state-of-art and state-of-practice of the geo-industry.

Goals

The TCC aims:
  • To coordinate technical activities between the technical committees.
  • To advise the Board of Governors on technical issues.
  • To collaborate with local, national and international geo-professional organizations at the technical level.
  • To enhance and promote technology transfer.
  • To make the Geo-Institute a world leader in the development and dissemination of information supporting high quality technical and educational practices.
  • To be a world leader encouraging and publishing research.
  • To promote quality in educational programs.
  • To promote technical standards.
  • To provide leadership on public policy issues of importance to the geo-industry.

Speaker's Bureau
The purpose of the Speaker's Bureau is to provide members of the Geo-Institute, including local Sections and Branches, with a database of G-I members who are willing to make presentations on specific geotechnical topics. A call for speaker volunteers is currently underway. G-I members can get on the list to become a speaker.
