"Just wanted to touch base with you to comment on the student program we had today. I think I don't exaggerate if I say it was a super success. The program Michel and his coworkers put together at CH2MHill was incredible. The dedication and hospitality of everybody in the company exceeded all our expectations. The students left with an excellent perspective on the type of work they can do on a large firm. Moreover, they had a great time and fun.  Kudos to Michel Bouchedid for a well done job! Thanks also to the local ASCE Geotechnical group where this idea originated and grew to became a reality."   P. Arduino

Educational

  • G-I members Mike Duncan and Ross Boulanger have developed an educational web site, the " Geotechnical Engineering Photo Album," that serves as a supplement for available text books. A wide range of topics are illustrated using sequences of photos or diagrams. Faculty members can use the images to illustrate topics in courses. Students can use the web site to get a visual feel beyond what textbooks provide. Mike and Ross plan to continually update the site.

Women in Engineering

What do high-school girls think about engineering? To find the answer to this and other questions that assess career motivators for teenage girls, the Extraordinary Women Engineers Project conducted a project Needs Assessment. Read about the findings in the Needs Assessment Final Report.
